Rooted in Community. Driven by Students.
Dedicated to increasing and enabling Black student success at the post-secondary level through mentorship, outreach, representation, and community leadership.
Why BOLD Was Founded
The transition from secondary school to university or college is a pivotal milestone that shapes career trajectories and personal development. Yet, systemic barriers, disparate access to academic guidance, and underrepresentation across higher education faculties continue to affect Black youth.
BOLD emerged as a student-led response to these realities. Current Black undergraduate and graduate leaders across Ontario recognized that while opportunities exist, clear information, encouragement, and visible peer mentors are vital to unlocking them.
By visiting high schools, opening college and university doors through campus tours, and pairing students with mentors, BOLD bridges the gap between ambition and post-secondary success. [Official Founding Narrative Pending Review]
